Remembrance Service

Every year, we hold an outdoor Remembrance Service at Holy Trinity Church led by our Year 6 pupils.

In preparation for the service, every child makes a poppy out of a used plastic bottle. Each child is invited to plant their poppy around the war memorial.

Our Year 6 pupils lead us in prayers.

We sing the following song:

We walk around the church grounds and stop at 11 o’clock, when the church bells chime to have a 2-minute silence. We ask the children to remember all the people, who have been affected by war – both in the past and present. We place a poppy by the grave of the soldiers, who have been buried in the graveyard as a sign of respect and thankfulness.
