Administering Medication

If you need the school office to administer medicine whilst your child is at school, a medicine request form must be completed. These are available from the school office.

Asthma

If your child is asthmatic please ensure your child has a named inhaler which will be kept in the classroom.  Parent/carers must complete the medicine request form (please see link above) detailing how much and how often the child needs. A copy of the medicine form is available from the school office.

Allergies

You must let the school office know if your child has an allergy.

If your child has medication or an epipen then it is essential that this is in date and we must have a copy of the Allergy Action Plan where applicable. The medication / Epipen will be kept in the first aid cupboard in the classroom.

If your child will have a school meal, and requires a special dietary menu, please let the school office know. We will need you to provide a letter from the doctor / hospital, which will be sent to our catering company.

Coughs / Colds

If your child has a cough or common cold and they feel generally well, they are fine to attend school. However, if they have a fever, keep them off school until the fever goes.

Raised Temperature / Fever

If your child has a raised temperature or fever, it is advisable to keep them off school until it goes away.

Vomiting and diarrhoea

Children with diarrhoea and/or vomiting should stay away from school for 48 hours after the last episode of diarrhoea or vomiting.
