Breakfast club is open from 7:45am in the mobile classroom. Cereal, toast and fruit are on offer for breakfast and a selection of activities are available each morning. After school club, known as The Den, is also located in the mobile classroom and include activities ranging from art and craft, cooking, forest school and games. The playground, field, willow woodland and main school hall are regularly used for activities. Light snacks such as cheese on toast or fruit are prepared and served in The Den using the dedicated kitchen. Please see below for the opening times from September 2025.
Our Aims: To provide high quality child care before and after school for the families of Elsworth Primary School. To provide children with a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which to relax and enjoy a range of purposeful activities.
Health & Safety and Safeguarding: Children’s health, safety and well-being is our highest priority at all times. Staff are Child Protection, First Aid & Food Hygiene trained. Going to The Den: Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are escorted by The Den staff at the end of the school day. Key Stage 2 children are dismissed from their classroom and meet with the staff and other children at the agreed collection point. Staff then escort children to The Den.
Collection: Parents collect their children from The Den, accessed through the school car park and side gate. Parents will be asked to sign their children out at the end of each session.
Behaviour: We believe that our children thrive in an environment which values, supports and encourages children and fosters respect for each other. Staff expect everyone in The Den to be polite, helpful and kind. Our expectations are clear, consistent and fair and in line with the behaviour we expect in school. Any inappropriate behaviour will be referred to the Head Teacher.

The Den is open as follows during term time:
Monday to Thursday 3pm – 6pm
Friday 3pm – 4pm
